Elaine Chan | Executive Director
Elaine Chan’s marketing communications career in the hospitality industry spans 17 years in Singapore, London and China, where she worked for Millennium & Copthorne, Shangri-La, The Grove Resort, London, and Kempinski in Yanqi Lake, Beijing, where she was a part of the opening team for a MICE and leisure destination with 14 hotels and a conference centre, owned by the Beijing government.
Elaine also founded Ningbo’s first bilingual magazine, Ningbo Focus, as well as Ningbo's inaugural bilingual television show, in 2010. In April 2015, Elaine returned to Singapore to manage Straits Union, a one-stop fun food concept company, which her late father, William Chin Tik, founded 50 years ago.
Nicolas Nesme | Consultant, Supply Chain Management
Prior to relocating to Singapore in 2015, Nicolas Nesme was General Manager at CMP Paris Group, an importer and exporter of customised household products, where he was based in Ningbo, China.
Nicolas’ previous roles with Leroy Somer (Emerson Group), CODIFAB / ISLI, VISEO and CEGID encompassed supplies/supplier management, quality (IQC, IPQC and FQC) audits, traceability, ERP, S&OP, planning, and warehousing management. He is currently Head of Planning and Retail at Viseo Asia Pte Ltd.
Nicolas’ primary role is to consult Straits Union on the company’s forecasting, inventory and warehousing systems, as well as supply chain management.
Timothy Tew | Operations Director
Timothy’s technical and mechanical career in the automatic door and revolving door manufacturing industry spans more than 20 years, where he managed and coordinated local, international and government building projects, such as Ng Teng Fong, Changi, the Singapore National University, Sengkang Hospital, Orchard Central, Orchard 313, Centrepoint, CapitaLand shopping centres, as well as private estates, hotel projects, and international projects in Cambodia, Vietnam, China, and Indonesia.
Timothy is responsible for the development and implementation of Straits Union's operational policies and practices, warehousing and logistics, improve operational performance, provide high-level after-sales service, and achieve technical and operational excellence, as well as the management of the company's SAP system.
Syakila Kamsin | Assistant Customer Service Manager
Syakila Kamsin’s experience in the administrative role spans four years in the construction industry, where she started learning the ropes from scratch, from handling legal documentations, to finance, as well as supplier and contractor liaison, to ensure the smooth execution of projects.
Syakila’s role at Straits Union is to support all senior managers in administration, as well as sales and marketing, after-sales customer service, finance, inventory management, as well as the management of the company's SAP system. Syakila was promoted to Assistant Customer Service Manager in March 2018.
Kimberly Chan | Assistant Marketing Communications Manager
Kimberly graduated with a Bachelor's of Environments, majoring in Architecture, from the University of Melbourne and has 5 years of experience in the architectural industry, working on both local and overseas projects varying from residential building design to urban planning. Kimberly's passion for design spans architectural design to illustration in both traditional (painting) and digital mediums. With a background in both environmental design and visual arts, Kimberly considers herself a multi-disciplinary designer.
In August 2020, Kimberly made the switch from architecture to digital marketing, and joined Straits Union to assist in the development of Digital Marketing at the company, including new product development, website and social media content development.
